Marvel Cut – Disconnector Rail Decking
A precise internal cut that addresses disconnector timing and engagement issues in high-performance 1911 and 2011 platforms.
The Marvel Cut lowers the disconnector rail height inside the slide, ensuring clean, reliable reset and eliminating drag or reset hang-ups often found in slides that are out of spec or running ultra-light trigger setups. This modification is especially useful for tuned competition guns and builds running high-performance fire control systems.
Why it’s done?

The standard disconnector rail height can vary between manufacturers.

If it’s too high, it can cause drag, reset issues, or hammer follow.

By cutting (decking) the disconnector rail slightly — the Marvel Cut — you create the correct clearance and improve mechanical timing.

Vulcan Marvel Cut For Prodigy
Disconnector was hanging up on both my 5" and 4.5" Springfield Prodigies & Vulcan fixed them both with a marvel cut. Slides are smooth like butter now and had them both back within 7 days. And good guy Vulcan also fixed a stripped optics plate screw on the house, i didn't even ask for it, they just did it. These guys are solid!
