Job Description:
Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented master gunsmith with deep expertise in the 1911/2011 platform. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with these classic and widely revered firearm platforms. As a 1911/2011 master gunsmith, you will play a critical role in our firearms division, performing a wide range of services related to the maintenance, customization, and repair of 1911/2011 handguns. Ultimately, an outstanding master gunsmith should be able to safely use various gunsmithing tools as well as demonstrate excellent mechanical, and metalworking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth inspection, building and maintenance of 1911/2011 handguns.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair firearms to ensure optimal performance.
- Customization and modification of 1911/2011 assembly per build sheet specifications.
- Fit and assemble components with precision and attention to detail.
- Test firearms for accuracy, functionality, and safety.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and maintain inventory of parts and tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to 1911/2011 platforms.
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Keep accurate records documenting what you’ve done to each gun that you work on
- Help us to maintain the cleanliness of our shop
Qualifications/Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of the design, mechanics, and components of 1911/2011 handguns.
- Proven experience as a gunsmith specializing in the 1911/2011 platform.
- Proficiency in disassembly, assembly, and troubleshooting of these platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
- Relevant certifications and licenses are a plus.
- Proven experience working as a master gunsmith.
- Sound knowledge of gun laws and gun safety.
- The ability to safely use gunsmithing tools.
- The ability to interpret blueprints for guns/optics.
- Efficiently use and understand micrometers
- Strong mechanical and metalworking skills.
- Use grinders, files, and other tools to carry out gun modification tasks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Must be a team player
- MUST HAVE VERIFIABLE WORK EXPERIENCE AS A GUNSMITH
