About DLC: DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) is a thin-film coating applied in a vacuum process that deposits carbon-based material onto the part to form a hard, low-friction surface layer. It’s commonly used to improve wear resistance, reduce friction, and add corrosion protection while maintaining a clean, deep, dark finish.

BARREL DLC COATING
This is now the third barrel that Vulcan has done for me, so far they have done two Apex barrels for me and one KKM barrel they all have turned out perfect. Again To avoid yourself some frustration realize it could take anywhere from 4 to 7 weeks. I got one barrel back in four weeks and the other two took around 5 to 6 weeks but I knew that because I actually read they disclaimer about wait times. If you’re thinking about doing it all, I can say it’s worth every penny. I have shot thousands around at competitions and I cannot even see any wear marks on the barrel itself minimal on the barrel hood, but the barrel is pristine.

DLC coating on KKM S&W barrel
When they tell you to be aware of of their leadtimes, be respect to realize you’re not gonna get your barrel back inside of four weeks. It took a little over four weeks for me to get my barrel back, but I knew that based off of them being upfront about the leadtimes and I can tell you, it was worth the wait! Looks great and I just sent them another barrel for DLC an APEX 5 Gunsmith Fit 5”. And yes, I know it will be about four weeks before I see it again, but I knew that before I sent it! I’m sure it will equally be worth the wait. Since you cannot get an Apex or a KKM barrel, other than stainless. It’ll be awesome to see this one with the DLC black on it.
